What computer skills do I need to use LifeStoryPRO to write my autobiography?

Almost none! Most people just reply to emails like they’re writing to a friend. If you can use email, you can do this.   Logging into your account is in your web browser (Chrome, Safari etc.). No special applications needed.

How long does it take to complete?

Completely up to you, there is no hard time limit. Some people finish in 3–6 months, many take 1 year or more, and that’s perfectly fine. We only print your book when you are 100% ready.  You’ll receive the email prompts for 1 year, but can log in to your account and respond at any pace you like.

I’d like to give this as a gift, how does that normally work?

Who edits the book at the end of the process?

After you go through the memory prompts/questions section and mark your book complete, we then compile your answers, stories, and photos into a book format. You will then be able to preview a proof of your book prior to printing and request any final edits at that time.

Can I add photos?

You can add up to 100 photos to your autobiography. In each memory prompt in the app, there is a button to add a photo under the prompt.   Or, if you are replying to the emails primarily, you can include as attachment in your response.  Alternatively, at the end of the process, when you are ready to have the book created, you can send a batch to be included as a photo section. The final book printing is a beautiful and durable trade book, but please be aware the photo quality may differ from what you see on a computer screen or what would be achieved with photo paper.

Is there a page limit to my book?

Books are limited to 400 pages in length due to printing process.  Average final book length is 100-200 pages.

My loved one is not a fan of using a computer, does this mean that LifeStoryPRO won’t work for them?

Often our customers will assist their non-computer literate loved one with completing the program.  There’s many ways to do this. Side-by-side, over the phone, etc.   Most find it is actually a great way to spend time together!

What are the minimum computer specifications?

LifeStoryPRO is fully browser-based, so there’s no software to install. It works on all modern browsers across mobile, tablet, and desktop, including Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge. If your device can browse the web, you should be good to go.

I’d like to use LifeStoryPRO to create a book of a single event (Wedding, Athletic Season,
Annual Photo Memory Book, etc.), can this system work for that?

LifeStoryPRO is designed to create a book of your life via a series of memory prompts spanning many years and aspects of life. Our system can accommodate custom chapters, custom fields etc., but our system is not designed for being a pure  photo book or to just highlight one event.

I’ve written my book in Word, and would like to turn that document into a book. Is this program a good way to do that?

The LifeStoryPRO system is designed to help users generate a great document of their life by using our memory prompts and then responding to them via the app or emails.  Sometimes, our customers have started this process and not gotten too far on their own and are looking for a better solution. If you have started writing an autobiography, we are happy to try and help you incorporate your previous work.  However, LifeStoryPRO is not a page layout program intended to import a large text file to turn into a book and edit that way.   We are a program to help generate the book content primarily and to then output that generated content into a final book.
